Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Vauxhall Removals is committed to conducting its business ethically and with integrity in all operations. We recognise our responsibility to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chains. This statement outlines the steps we take and the standards we expect from all parties who work with us.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Vauxhall Removals operates in the removals and relocation sector, providing moving, storage, and associated services. Our activities involve direct employees, subcontracted labour, vehicle and equipment suppliers, and providers of ancillary services. We acknowledge that labour-intensive services and extended supply chains can present a heightened risk of modern slavery, and we are committed to managing and reducing these risks proactively.

Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation. This applies to our own operations and to all third parties with whom we have a business relationship. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation involved in modern slavery and will take immediate action to end any relationship where credible evidence of such practices is identified.

All managers and supervisors are responsible for promoting this zero-tolerance approach and are expected to challenge any behaviour, practice, or arrangement that appears inconsistent with our values and policies.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers, contractors, and business partners to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our onboarding and ongoing supplier management processes, we communicate our expectations clearly and require assurance that appropriate labour and ethical standards are in place.

We conduct risk-based supplier assessments and audits, focusing our efforts on higher-risk categories such as labour-only subcontractors, temporary staffing agencies, and overseas suppliers. These reviews may include site visits, document checks, verification of right-to-work controls, and questioning on recruitment practices, working hours, and wage arrangements.

Where concerns are identified, we work with suppliers to agree corrective actions and monitor progress. If issues are not resolved within an appropriate timeframe, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.

Policies, Training, and Awareness

Our internal policies support our stance against modern slavery and include standards on ethical conduct, recruitment, equal opportunities, and health and safety. We strive to ensure that all workers are engaged on fair terms, paid in accordance with applicable laws, and treated with dignity and respect.

We provide training and guidance to relevant employees so that they can recognise indicators of modern slavery, understand how to escalate concerns, and appreciate their role in maintaining ethical business practices. Awareness is incorporated into inductions for new staff and refresher sessions for those involved in procurement, operations, and site supervision.

Reporting Concerns and Protection

We encourage anyone working for or with Vauxhall Removals to report any suspicion, concern, or evidence relating to modern slavery or human trafficking. Concerns can be raised through management channels or via our internal reporting procedures. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will treat all disclosures sensitively and with respect.

We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any individual who raises a concern in good faith. All reports will be reviewed promptly, investigated where appropriate, and addressed through appropriate corrective and remedial action.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to managing modern slavery risks. Each year we review the effectiveness of our policies, risk assessments, training, and supplier due diligence. This review considers any incidents reported, feedback from stakeholders, and changes in legislation or best practice.

As part of this annual review, we will update our procedures where needed, refine our supplier audit programme, and enhance training materials to reflect current risks. This statement will be reviewed, updated, and reapproved on an annual basis to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with our commitment to combat modern slavery in all its forms.
